SEPTEMBER 1ST – AN AFTERNOON WITH AUTHOR NIGEL BARLEY

SEPTEMBER 8TH – HINDU CEREMONY - HARI RAYA KUNINGAN
This day is always celebrated 10 days after Galungan and on a Saturday marking the end of the festivities, sending deified ancestors back to the heavens. There will be many colourful temple ceremonies, with the Balinese suitably attired coming to and fro, according plenty of photo opportunities. Please be patient when on the roads.

SEPTEMBER 15TH – DARK MOON - TILEM KATIGA
The Balinese adhering to the Hindu Dharma religion will celebrate 'Tilem' in temple ceremonies, which are mostly held in every major temple and family shrines around the island of Bali. On this day Hindus make offerings to the Gods, placed on the ground at the entrance of each housing compound. The aim is to beg God's grace; so that one's dark thoughts will be illuminated by Him.

SEPTEMBER 26TH - 30TH – 7TH ANNUAL SANUR VILLAGE FESTIVAL
Located at the cottages area of Inna Grand Bali Beach, Sanur. "Salampah Laku" is preferred as the event's theme this year, reflecting the long winding road this event has been through to make it as successful as it is. An array of routine programs will certainly entertain at Sanur Village Festival this year with the main attraction set to be at the food festival area combined with a wide range of entertainment from traditional and modern collaborations. Not forgeting its green programs that have been featured since the first celebration back in 2006, such the beach cleaning campaign, coral reef conservation, baby turtle release and tree plantation. Other interesting activities will also be taking place around the Sanur area in conjunction with Sanur Village Festival such as a golf tournament, jukung exhibition, kite festival and many more. SEPTEMBER 30TH – FULL MOON - PURNAMA KAPAT
The full moon (which has particular importance to the Balinese Hindus) falls on this day and ceremonies are held throughout the Hindu temples all across Bali. The Balinese that adhere to the Hindu Dharma religion will take offerings of food, fruit and flowers to the temple to be blesses by the priest. The Balinese themselves are then blessed by performing various rituals using holy water, incense smoke, petals and rice grains.
