Dalam rangka mengembangkan minat mahasiswa di Indonesia terhadap bahasa Jepang maupun aspek lain tentang Jepang, serta melaksanakan pertukaran kebudayaan guna mempererat tali persahabatan dan saling perngertian antara Jepang dan Indonesia, The Japan Foundation, Jakarta bekerjasama dengan Perhimpunan Alumni dari Jepang (PERSADA) dan RRI Jakarta pada tahun 2012 ini akan menyelenggarakan Lomba Pidato Bahasa Jepang bagi Mahasiswa Tingkat Nasional ke-41 pada,

Adapun, peserta yang akan tampil dalam lomba pidato tingkat Nasional berjumlah 14 orang yang terdiri dari mahasiswa bahasa Jepang Pemenang Lomba Pidato Bahasa Jepang Tingkat Daerah untuk mewakili wilayahnya masing-masing, yaitu Sumatera Utara, Sumatera Barat, Jabodetabek, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, D.I. Yogyakarta, Jawa Timur, Bali dan Sulawesi. Peserta lomba tingkat nasional akan menyampaikan beragam tema pidato menarik, antara lain mengupas aspek sosial, budaya dan masyarakat Jepang serta masyarakat Indonesia, juga tentang hubungan kedua bangsa ini. Bagi peserta yang berhasil menjadi Juara I dan II, selain mendapat piala dan hadiah dari pendukung acara, juga akan mendapat kesempatan berkunjung ke Jepang selama satu minggu pada akhir bulan Oktober 2012 untuk mewakili Indonesia dalam acara “ASEAN Speech Contest” di Tokyo.

Acara Selingan bertema “Terima Kasih Indonesia” akan diisi dengan :

Dokumentasi mengenai Peristiwa Gempa dan Tsunami di Jepang “Our Gratitude for Bonds of Friendship of the World – A Remembrance of Tohoku Earthquakes”

2. Persembahan Tarian dan Nyanyian oleh mahasiswa Indonesia dan Masyarakat Jepang di Jakarta, yaitu SOUTHERN CROSS CHOIR, TARIAN & NYANYIAN JEPANG “JAKARTA ONDO”, TARIAN SUNDA “JAIPONG”, dll..

Bali seeks young filmmakers (The Jakarta Post)

Amid the minimum appreciation for documentary films nationwide, the third Bali Documentary Film Festival keeps on striving to uncover more of the island’s hidden young talents in film making.

“The Balinese are born and raised in an atmosphere of cultural and artistic lives. They already have such powerful artistic flair and thus, I believe, they posses great potential to become documentary film makers of great depth and detail,” said jury member of the third Bali Documentary Film Festival, IGP Wiranegara, to Bali Daily on the sidelines of the festival’s documentary film workshop on Thursday.

Other prominent members of the jury for this year’s festival are social anthropologist Dr. Lawrence Blair, film director Slamet Rahardjo, writer and photographer Rio Helmi, and Balinese culture and art expert Prof. Dr. I Made Bandem.

Wiranegara is a former cinematography lecturer at the Jakarta Arts Institute (IKJ), whose Pakubuwono XII: Berjuang untuk Sebuah Eksistensi (Pakubuwono XII: Fighting for Existence) won the Citra trophy as national best documentary film at the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) in 2005.

He acknowledged though, that nationwide, documentary film has yet to receive the appreciation that reflects the effort and finance spent to produce the genre. “Documentary film is still the stepchild in the national film industry as it’s not regarded as marketable enough,” he said.

Ambassador of the Bali Documentary Film Festival, Marcella Zalianty, pointed out that although not many TV stations nationwide care for the production of documentaries, there are a few, like Kompas TV, that are beginning to give more funding to the genre.

“I’m confident of the many young Indonesians in Bali and beyond, who are passionate enough to make documentaries. This film genre is very good for capturing this country’s vast natural and cultural wealth, which will surely benefit the tourism sector,” said Marcella, who is also the executive producer of documentary film Cerita dari Tapal Batas (Stories From the Frontier).

The film, directed by Wisnu Adi, delves into the lives of ordinary Indonesians at West Kalimantan’s Entikong border between Indonesia and neighboring Malaysia.
Head of the Bali Documentary Film Festival’s organizing committee, Agung Bawantara, expects to facilitate the winners of the festival not only to enter national-level film festivals but also international film festivals in Sundance, Berlin and South Korea. Last year’s top winner, Dwitra J. Ariana, with his documentary titled Lampion-Lampion, which described the acculturation of the Chinese people and the Balinese Hindu faithful in Kintamani, won the Education and Cultural Ministry’s award and was nominated at the 2011 FFI in Jakarta. Dwitra is currently preparing his film to be screened at a film festival hosted by the Indonesian Students Association in the United States (PERMIAS) soon.

“To have my film screened at an international festival has always, as an artist, been a dream of mine,” said the young director, who is also shooting his latest documentary on the acculturation of the island’s Islam and Hindu faithful, which is expected to join the Bali Documentary Film Festival and the 2012 FFI.

The winner of the festival will receive a prize of Rp 20 million (US$2,160). The deadline for submission is June 6, 2012. Further information can be found at baliffdb.blogspot.com.

Day 01: ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN

Day 02: FLOATING MARKET – PANDAK DAUN – LOKSADO

Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. Breakfast at hotel, then continue our trip to visit Pandak Daun swamp village for observing water buffaloes swim to the stall and villagers' unique activities as well as enjoying the romantic sunset outlook. Day 03: RAINFOREST TREKKING

After breakfast, we will be trekking to the virgin jungle crossing secondary rainforest, hills, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, villager farmlands, rivers and cascades, longhouses, cinnamon and rubber trees. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on bivouac/tent. (B,L,D)


Day 04: RAINFOREST TREKKING

Exploring the flora and fauna of the jungle, then proceed to Loksado through different trail crossing secondary rainforest, hills, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, villager farmlands, rivers and cascades, longhouses, cinnamon and rubber trees. Day 05: BAMBOO RAFTING – BATU LAKI

After breakfast, we will take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting across beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the Amandit riverside meanwhile our coach will be waiting on the downstream for driving to Batulaki hill for setting our campsite under the cliff. Day 06: ROCK CLIMBING – KANDANGAN

After breakfast, we will get a full day rock climbing on the crags of Batulaki hill with various challenged routes. In the afternoon, we will drive to Kandangan for overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)

JUNE 4TH – FULL MOON - PURNAMA SADHA
The full moon (which has particular importance to the Balinese Hindus) falls on this day and ceremonies are held throughout the Hindu temples all across Bali. The Balinese that adhere to the Hindu Dharma religion will take offerings of food, fruit and flowers to the temple to be blesses by the priest. The Balinese themselves are then blessed by performing various rituals using holy water, incense smoke, petals and rice grains.


JUNE 16TH – BALINESE BLESSING CEREMONY – HARI RAYA SARASWATI
This day is devoted to God's Manifestation as Dewi Saraswati, the beautiful Goddess of Knowledge, Art and Literature. She rules the intellectual and creative realm, and is the patron goddess of libraries and schools. Balinese Hindus believe that knowledge is an essential medium to achieve the goal of life as a human being, and so honour her. She is also celebrated because she succeeded in taming the wandering and lustful mind of her consort, Brahma, who was preoccupied with the goddess of material existence, Shatarupa. On this day no one is allowed to read or write, and offerings are made to the lontar (palm-leaf manuscripts), books, and shrines.

BBO (Bazaar Bursa Otomotif)2012 persembahan FK3O Bali akan dilaksanakan pada Sabtu-Minggu, 26-27 Mei 2012 yang bertempat di Lapangan Parkir GOR Ngurah Rai, Jalan Melati Denpasar dengan berbagai hiburan dan atraksi yang akan meramaikan acara dengan nuansa dunia otomotif. Beberapa acara yang akan ditampilkan dalam BBO 2012 antara lain bursa penjualan mobil baru & bekas, bursa penjualan part baru & bekas, aksesoris mobil, car show off contest, ladies car wash session, Miss BBO 2012, sound clinic, photography contest, parade band, sexy dancer, serta DJ Live Performance yang tentunya akan dimeriahkan dengan berbagai pembagian voucher gratis dari sponsor, dan berbagai hadiah menarik bagi para pengunjung yang hadir.

MAY 5TH – FULL MOON - PURNAMA JHISTA
The full moon (which has particular importance to the Balinese Hindus) falls on this day and ceremonies are held throughout the Hindu temples all across Bali. The Balinese that adhere to the Hindu Dharma religion will take offerings of food, fruit and flowers to the temple to be blesses by the priest. The Balinese themselves are then blessed by performing various rituals using holy water, incense smoke, petals and rice grains.


MAY 6TH – WESAK DAY – HARI RAYA WAISAK
Wesak Day is celebrated throughout the world to commemorate and honor the birthday of Lord Buddha, the Enlightened One. It is the most auspicious day in the Buddhist calendar, marking the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha and is celebrated as a national holiday throughout Indonesia. Therefore all banks and government offices will be closed on this day, as may some shops and other forms of commerce.

MAY 20TH – DARK MOON - TILEM JHISTA
The Balinese adhering to the Hindu Dharma religion will celebrate 'Tilem' in temple ceremonies, which are mostly held in every major temple and family shrines around the island of Bali. On this day Hindus make offerings to the Gods, placed on the ground at the entrance of each housing compound. The aim is to beg God's grace; so that one's dark thoughts will be illuminated by Him.

MAY 26TH – BALINESE BLESSING CEREMONY - HARI TUMPEK WAYANG
This auspicious day on the Balinese calendar is devoted to the worship of Sanghyang Iswara, Lord of Puppeteers. This holiday is the most important day for owners of leather puppets and puppeteers when they are taken from their box (keropak), and blessed. It is considered unlucky if a child were to be born on this day. Prayers will be held at the temples across the island.
